Book Therapytherapy

For licensed therapists

Apply to join the
Book Therapy directory.

Matched referrals from clients whose specialties, location, and insurance fit your practice.

What you get

A profile, referrals, and your time back.

  • Your own profile page

Real photo, license number, specialties, modalities, languages, insurance — all in your voice, indexed by Google.

  • Matched referrals only

We route the matching form to therapists whose practice actually fits the inquiry. You only hear from prospective clients who match your specialties, insurance, and geography.

  • No fees, no commission, no contract

Listing is free. We don't take a percentage of sessions or charge per lead. You can ask to be delisted at any time.

How it works

From application to listed — three steps.

  1. 01

    You apply.

Eight short sections. About 15–20 minutes. Specialties, modalities, license info, insurance, and a bio in your own voice.

  2. 02

    We verify and review.

We check your license against the state board's public registry and read your bio against the rest of the directory for fit and tone. A real person handles this — not a form filter.

  3. 03

    You sign off, we publish.

If we suggest copy edits to your bio, we ask first. We send you a draft of your profile page for review. Nothing goes live without your explicit approval.

What we look for

Fit, not prestige.

Active state licensure in good standing. A current in-person practice in a city we serve OR telehealth licensure in a state we serve. At least one accepted insurance carrier or willingness to bill self-pay or out-of-network with a superbill. A bio that reads like you wrote it.

We're not chasing the most prestigious credentials. We're looking for clinicians whose practice actually fits a referral need our matching form surfaces — someone who takes Aetna in Hoboken, someone who specializes in perinatal mood disorders in central Jersey, someone affirming and trauma-informed for LGBTQIA+ adults in Brooklyn. Specificity beats breadth.

The application

Tell us about your practice.

Eight short sections. Most clinicians finish in 15–20 minutes. Progress isn't saved between visits — set aside time to do it in one sitting.

0/280

0/4000

200-400 words. This is the body of your profile page. Paragraph breaks via blank lines. Plain text — no formatting needed.

Section 07

Media

Your headshot and optional intro video. We'll ask for a high-resolution copy of the headshot during review.

Square, 800×800 or larger. Professional quality. A link to your own site or LinkedIn works.

Optional. YouTube or Vimeo. 60-120 seconds works best on the profile.

Bot-check widget will appear here once NEXT_PUBLIC_TURNSTILE_SITE_KEY is configured.

We'll review your application and follow up by email. Applications with verifiable license information and complete bios are reviewed fastest.

Common questions

Before you apply.

Is there a fee to be listed in the directory?

No. Listing is free. We don't take a percentage of sessions, charge per lead, or run paid placements.

How does the matching process route clients to me?

When someone submits the matching form, an intake coordinator reviews their answers (location, what they're working on, insurance, preferences) and pairs them with a therapist whose specialties, geography, and accepted insurance actually fit. You only hear from prospective clients who match — not every form submission.

What credentials do you accept?

Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatrist, or equivalent state credential. We verify every license in the state board's public registry as part of review.

Do I need to be in-network with insurance to apply?

No. We list therapists who are in-network with carriers as well as those who only do self-pay or out-of-network with superbill. The matching form lets visitors specify their insurance, and we route accordingly. Therapists who take no insurance are matched with visitors who select 'self-pay' or 'I'm not sure'.

How long does review take?

We respond to every application within several business days. Applications with verifiable license information, complete bios, and clear specialties are reviewed fastest.

Can I edit my profile after I'm listed?

Yes. Email us with the changes you want and we'll update your profile within one business day. You can also ask to be delisted at any time and we'll do it within a week.

What kinds of clients does the matching form bring in?

Adults, teens, couples, and families seeking ongoing outpatient therapy — for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, OCD, grief, relationships, perinatal mental health, substance use, and the full clinical range. We are not a crisis service and don't route urgent intakes.

Questions we didn't cover?
