3 therapists in our directory accept Oscar Health.
Oscar Health is a relatively newer carrier with a tech-forward member experience and a growing presence on the individual marketplace (ACA exchange) as well as in small-group commercial. Oscar's mental-health network is more limited than the major legacy carriers but has expanded steadily; if you're using an Oscar plan, finding an in-network therapist who's accepting new patients can take a bit more matching. Several therapists in this directory are credentialed with Oscar.
Federal parity rules apply to Oscar plans. Most cover outpatient mental-health therapy with an in-network provider for a copay (typically $25-$50) or coinsurance after deductible. Oscar's marketplace plans tend to have higher deductibles than employer-sponsored plans, which means more of the early-year session cost lands on you until the deductible is met. Once you've met it, the copay or coinsurance is straightforward.
Oscar's plans generally don't require a primary-care referral for outpatient mental-health. Telehealth is reimbursed at the same rate as in-person across the Oscar product line, and Oscar has been a relatively early adopter of telehealth as a default rather than an exception. The Oscar app and member portal are well-built; benefits and coverage information are accessible without needing to call.
What to verify: that your specific Oscar plan covers outpatient mental-health (it almost certainly does, but plans vary), your copay or coinsurance, and whether your deductible has been met. Oscar's app makes this easier than most carriers; you can usually see it in a couple of taps. If you'd rather skip it, our intake coordinator can verify with the therapist's billing team.
Out-of-network reimbursement on Oscar plans varies; some plans have no out-of-network benefit at all, which is more restrictive than the major commercial carriers. If you're considering an out-of-network therapist on Oscar, confirm out-of-network benefits before committing.
